A Nonprofit Online School Supporting Emergent Bilingual Students and Their Educators
Emergent Bilingual Institute (EBI) is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to advancing opportunities for both Emergent Bilingual (EB) students and the educators who serve them. Through a dual mission of professional development and direct student instruction, EBI empowers multilingual learners and strengthens instructional practices across educational settings.
EBI provides low-cost and free professional development for elementary, secondary, and bilingual educators through online courses, webinars, and digital resources. Educators can enroll in our TESOL/TEFL certification program (150 hours, with live teaching practicum) or pursue an Educational Aide Certificate, which equips teacher’s assistants across three levels of proficiency. In addition, EBI offers free and affordable career services, including resume workshops, ESL demonstration lesson planning, and interview preparation for those entering the field of bilingual education.
Under the EBI umbrella, EB Digital School (EBDS) operates as a nonprofit, flexible online private middle and high school. EBDS currently serves grades 6–12. Designed to meet the academic and linguistic needs of Emergent Bilingual students and diverse learners, EBDS offers both live class-paced and self-paced programs. Our goal is to provide an affordable, high-quality online private school experience for families in Texas and for U.S. expat families abroad.

We are committed to helping both EB learners and all students thrive academically, linguistically, and socially.
